This blogging thing is new to me, so you'll have to bear with me. It has been a long, life changing year. My sister Nancy mentioned that we should get a doll house kit and build it. I thought it would be fun to try and blog the progress along the way.
We looked a couple of places in town and didn't find anything so on a recent trip to Sioux Falls, we stopped in the Hobby Lobby store. Not only did they have one I liked, they took a 60% off coupon via Nancy's Ipad!
So we got the box home and it took both of us to get it to the basement. We decided to set up a table near the windows so we have the natural light in the day and can see outside. It is a pleasant place to work but out of the way from everyday living.
The dollhouse has a name. It is called Victoria's Farmhouse and comes from a company called Real Good Toys. Here is a link to their website with a picture of the dollhouse:

The first work day was inventory. There are so many little parts in the box, each one had to be labeled and checked off. It was a good thing we did it, too, because we were missing a piece of the trim. It was a good lesson not to skip steps, or try to hurry the process. The next thing I learned from this...Real Good Toys made good on their promise. I called them on a Monday with the missing part number and it came in the mail right away. I think it was here on Wednesday.
Next post, I'll put up some pictures.
